The main objectives of this lesson are to:
- engage in talking about paintings from various viewpoints;
- improve speaking and listening skills by describing and visualising paintings;
- watch a short video in which AI technology animates classic paintings.
In this lesson, students discuss their interest in art, examine paintings and share their reactions and interpretations. They listen to the descriptions of artworks, imagine them and give their opinions. Students work in pairs, describing and debating paintings. They talk about different scenarios involving art engagement and watch a video where paintings come to life. Students also conceptualise and describe a personal painting based on their lives.

WARM-UP AND DISCUSSION
This lesson focuses on talking about paintings and starts with a warm-up. Students choose words to make sentences about their interest in art true for them. They provide details. Students can do an optional activity and review present verb forms by choosing the correct option to complete sentences. They then change the verbs in them into the plural form and make any other necessary changes. After that, students examine different paintings and discuss their reactions and interpretations. Moving on, they listen to descriptions of two paintings and try to imagine them. Then, students say which painting they think they would like more and why. Afterwards, they work in pairs and get cards with images of paintings. They describe and discuss them.
VIDEO AND MORE DISCUSSION
In this part of the lesson, students examine different art engagement scenarios and possible actions associated with them. They choose the option they prefer and engage in talking about paintings by giving details. Then, students think of more options for each situation. Following that, they watch a video in which paintings come to life through the AI. Afterwards, students discuss art’s cultural value and modern engagement. Moving on, they imagine they want to create a painting to show their life and the lives of people around them. Students choose one title (e.g. Messy Day, Celebration, My Neighbourhood) and say what the people in the painting are doing. Students add details.
