LESSON SET OVERVIEW

With this lesson set, your students will:

  • revise family-related collocations,
  • learn and practise phrasal verbs,
  • review three types of conditional sentences,
  • watch a video and talk about family management with an unusual approach, 
  • practise talking about hypothetical situations with the topic of your choice – the world without humans or social media. 

Although each lesson in the set requires some prior preparation (students need to either watch an 18-minute video or read an article), the set provides a great chance for students to revise conditionals

Using Agile for your family life (conditionals review)

Grammar Technology

Before class, students revise family collocations (e.g. extended family, family ties), learn phrasal verbs (e.g. stumble upon, dial back) and revise how to form three types of conditionals. They also watch an 18-minute TED talk. In class, students put everything into practice.

If humans suddenly vanished…

Global Issues

At home, students read an article about what would happen if humans disappeared. In class, they learn new vocabulary (e.g. maintenance, corrode, leftovers), talk about hypothetical situations, and brainstorm more ideas. Encourage students to use conditionals in ex. 3, 4, 6 (slides 9, 11, 16).

Our lives rely on social media more than we think

Lifestyle Technology

Students read about a social media outage at home. In class, they revise useful vocabulary (e.g. concern, alert, estimate) and discuss a hypothetical scenario of all social media ceasing to exist. Encourage students to use conditionals in ex. 4 (slide 10).

Is there a minimum subscription period if I choose a monthly subscription?

No, there's no minimum required number of subscription months. You can cancel any time you want. Basically, you can sign up and then cancel your subscription the next day, which will mean you have access for 1 month and won't be charged again.

How can I edit an e-lesson plan?

You can get your own editable copy of an e-lesson plan and make changes to it. To do so, either (1) make a copy of it on your Google Drive (preferable method) or (2) download it in a Powerpoint format (but formatting might be a bit off so we can’t guarantee that it will work well).
