worksheet about artificial intelligence

Audio for ex. 4

LESSON OVERVIEW

This worksheet about artificial intelligence consists of tasks built around an article and jobs that it will create rather than destroy.

B2 / Upper Intermediate30 minStandard LessonPremium Plan

READING

The worksheet starts with three questions. Make your students discuss them and spend as much time on them as you can. Next, students check whether they were right by reading the first part of the article. The article has some gaps in it, so in the next task students have to choose the best words to complete them. For each gap, they have four options to choose from.

LISTENING

When it comes to the second part of the article, students have to listen to it and complete its gaps with one to three words each. By the way, the audio file for the second part of the article is generated with the use of artificial intelligence ? Could you tell a difference? Finally, students move to a short discussion about the article and their own ideas.

    excellent, thanks

  2. Lydia goold verschoyle

The audio file is problematic. It is not possible to scroll backwards or forwards. Instead of giving the instruction to scroll to the last 2 mins. 40 secs of the file, give us the exact time. Would it be possible for you to extract the file and make it downloadable? Thank you.

    1. Stan

Yeah, you’re right we should’ve done it the way you say. Please start the recording at 4:52 for ex. 4. In terms, rewinding and fastforwarding the recording, you just need to click the timebar wherever you want to start playing it. Unfortunately, there’s no way to download that audio file :/

Dear ESL team, I love working with your materials. However, today – one day before my next class – I noticed that the audio file is no longer available on the website. Therefore, much of the course no longer works for me this way and I have to spontaneously redesign tomorrow.

    1. Stan

No worries! Things like this happen occassionally, but technology comes to the rescue. You can get the audio file here (and it’s still AI-generated).

  4. Marcin Tauter

audio file should be uploaded to youtube so that it can be played out as a video file within video chat tools we already use.

    1. Stan

Why not! Give me a few days to do that – set up the right background, convert the audio file to video and all the other necessary things. I will write another comment once that’s ready.

      1. Stan

As promised, now you can also find the audio file on YouTube. See the embedded video on this page.

Is there a minimum subscription period if I choose a monthly subscription?

No, there's no minimum required number of subscription months. You can cancel any time you want. Basically, you can sign up and then cancel your subscription the next day, which will mean you have access for 1 month and won't be charged again.

What currencies can I pay in for my subscription?

Our default currency is USD (American dollar), but you can also pay in EUR (euro), GBP (British pound sterling) or PLN (Polish zloty). You can change the currency you want to pay in at the Pricing page before selecting a subscription plan.

How can I edit an e-lesson plan?

You can get your own editable copy of an e-lesson plan and make changes to it. To do so, either (1) make a copy of it on your Google Drive (preferable method) or (2) download it in a Powerpoint format (but formatting might be a bit off so we can’t guarantee that it will work well).
