Introducing: Vocabulary Lab!

We’re excited to present our new idea: Vocabulary Lab! Intrigued? Read on!

What are Vocabulary Lab worksheets?

Vocabulary Lab helps your students work on their lexis in a way that is much more than the run-of-the-mill vocabulary-building activities found elsewhere. With each Vocabulary Lab worksheet, students are not only introduced to a lexical set but they also practise using the new words in a variety of ways and contexts. These include: discussions, creating associations, ordering, sorting, listening, playing guessing games, doing puzzles and many more. The practice is interactive, communicative and designed in a way that helps students retain the target language and actually remember it after the lesson. Additionally, just like any standard lesson plan, each Vocabulary Lab worksheet includes a fun homework/revision task

Who are Vocabulary Lab worksheets for?

Vocabulary Lab worksheets cover all categories (General, Business, Technology, etc.) and therefore can be used in the lesson with any student or group, online and offline. They are perfect for learners who want to improve their vocabulary with hands-on activities rather than by doing mindless gap-filling tasks. From types of documents and UI-related vocabulary to animals, tools and organs, Vocabulary Lab worksheets offer something for every student and group. Use the worksheets in addition to other ESL Brains lesson types to provide your students with a comprehensive learning experience

I have been able to adapt the lessons to suit Elementary Conversation class for migrant learners. They really enjoy being able to ask each other questions and give answers using the new vocabulary. Lesson plans are very helpful to me as a teacher with limited time for planning.

Great news! Thanks for sharing 🙂
