NEWS SUMMARY
On Sunday, 7th of September, people in Australia, Asia, Africa and Europe enjoyed a lunar eclipse. The phenomenon takes place when the Earth passes exactly between the Moon and the Sun and the Earth’s shadow covers the Moon. A total lunar eclipse also turns the moon red, which is why the phenomenon is sometimes called the ‘blood moon’. Photographers were able to take many images of the lunar eclipse on 7th of September because of good weather and lack of clouds.
