C1 / Advanced30 minCritical Reading ClubUnlimited Plan
This is a Critical Reading Club worksheet. With this format, students need to read an online article at home and do the exercises in the classroom. Learn more about how to use such worksheets and their benefits in our post.
ACTIVITIES
At the beginning of the lesson students list advantages and disadvantages of living forever. The teacher can use this task to hold a longer debate. After that, students read pairs of phrases and discuss their differences (e.g. forthcoming feature and inevitable feature). Then, students read a set of ideas about the issues mentioned in the article and match the opposing ones. They also discuss which of the statements in each pair they agree more and why. Finally, students discuss questions about the article they read at home. The questions also cover the topics of the metaverse, NFTs, data collection, etc.

Thank you! I love lessons on technology! There’s a Black Mirror episode about this topic: “Be right back”.
Looking forward to more C1 and C2 lessons =)
Hi Veronica! Thanks for the comment! If someone’s interested in tech, Black Mirror is a very interesting series and I think the one that you remember for longer because of the dystopian future shown there. IMHO worth watching 🙂
