LESSON OVERVIEW
The main objectives of this lesson are to:
- talk about life choices and decision-making;
- practise either, neither and both structures;
- watch and discuss a video on dual perspectives of a single day.
In this lesson, students talk about daily choices, watch a video exploring two parallel versions of the same day and discuss the impact of everyday decisions. They read an online debate on improving routines and learn to use quantifiers (either, neither and both structures). Students also share their thoughts on life conflicts and tackle scenario-based questions to weigh practical alternatives.

WARM-UP AND VIDEO
This lesson starts with a warm-up. Students list daily choices, say which of them are the most difficult to make and explain why. Following that, they watch a video about one person living two different versions of the same day. Students watch the first part and guess what other choices the person in each version will make throughout the day. They then watch the second part of the video and compare their answers from the previous task. Afterwards, students discuss questions about the video and individual lifestyle choices. Next, they read an online conversation about improving one’s routine and choose the correct answer about what people are discussing. Moving on, they examine phrases featuring either, neither and both in the conversation from the previous exercise. Students do tasks where they learn the rules and meanings of these structures.
GRAMMAR PRACTICE AND DISCUSSION
In this part of the lesson, students complete the gaps in sentences using either, neither and both structures. After that, they use either, neither and both to express personal preferences by completing sentences (e.g. if I didn’t have my current job, I’d either be a travel guide or a pet sitter) with their own ideas. Then, students choose situations involving life conflicts and decision-making and give more details. They use the target structures from the lesson. Finally, students answer scenario-based questions to evaluate solutions for different situations. They use the phrases from the lesson.
HOMEWORK/REVISION
This lesson also includes an additional task that you can use as homework or revision. In the task, students correct the mistakes in statements with either, neither and both. The task is available in the teacher’s version of the worksheet. You can print it and hand it out to your students. It’s also included in the e-lesson plan.
