LESSON SET OVERVIEW

With this lesson set, your students will:

  • learn useful expressions for saying that they’re busy,
  • discuss why it’s difficult for people to say ‘no’,
  • watch a video with strategies on how to say ‘no’,
  • learn phrases to say ‘no’ politely,
  • practise the phrases through role-play,
  • discuss the topic of personal boundaries and watch a video explaining the concept,
  • learn collocations with the word ‘boundaries’,
  • discuss people’s possible responses to difficult situations.

This lesson set focuses on ways to say ‘no’ and the importance of protecting personal boundaries.

General

Students discuss the concept of personal boundaries and practise collocations with the word ‘boundaries’. They also identify different types of personal boundaries and reflect upon responses to challenging situations. Encourage students to use phrases to say ‘no’ when discussing responses in ex. 9 and 10 (slides 47, 49).

Is there a minimum subscription period if I choose a monthly subscription?

No, there's no minimum required number of subscription months. You can cancel any time you want. Basically, you can sign up and then cancel your subscription the next day, which will mean you have access for 1 month and won't be charged again.

How can I edit an e-lesson plan?

You can get your own editable copy of an e-lesson plan and make changes to it. To do so, either (1) make a copy of it on your Google Drive (preferable method) or (2) download it in a Powerpoint format (but formatting might be a bit off so we can’t guarantee that it will work well).
