LESSON SET OVERVIEW

With this lesson set, your students will:

  • work on phrases to apologize, promise solutions and accept apologies,
  • listen to a recording of people giving their opinions on making mistakes at work,
  • identify and talk about scenarios of miscommunication,
  • watch and discuss a funny ad for project management software,
  • analyse effective communication tips for avoiding misunderstandings.

This lesson set offers students a chance to explore workplace mistakes and common misunderstandings while learning and practising effective ways to apologize for them.

How to deal with misunderstandings

Business General

Students define communication problems at work, brainstorm situations that might cause miscommunication and discuss tips on effective communication. Encourage students to imagine they apologize for misunderstandings in ex. 6 (slides 14-15) and use the phrases from Lesson 1.

Is there a minimum subscription period if I choose a monthly subscription?

No, there's no minimum required number of subscription months. You can cancel any time you want. Basically, you can sign up and then cancel your subscription the next day, which will mean you have access for 1 month and won't be charged again.

How can I edit an e-lesson plan?

You can get your own editable copy of an e-lesson plan and make changes to it. To do so, either (1) make a copy of it on your Google Drive (preferable method) or (2) download it in a Powerpoint format (but formatting might be a bit off so we can’t guarantee that it will work well).
