WARM-UP & VOCABULARY

The lesson starts with a warm-up activity. Students look at the picture and do some tasks (e.g. name devices, talk about their use, etc.). Students can also play Kim’s game where they test their memory and try to memorise the items in the picture. After the warm-up, students do vocabulary activities. First, they read sentences and choose the correct word or phrase (e.g. lifespan, damage, overheat). Then, they complete a text with the words they choose. Students also have a discussion and talk about the text and share their experience of using gadgets. After that, students move on to discuss facts and myths about technology more.

DISCUSSING FACTS AND MYTHS ABOUT TECHNOLOGY

In this part of the lesson students watch a video. Before watching the video, students work with some sentences and correct grammatical mistakes. Then, students say whether the sentences are true or false. Students watch the video and check their answers. After the video, students discuss it and talk more about facts and myths about technology. The lesson finishes with an interactive task in which students do a quiz about technology. They read sentences to their partners and ask them to guess whether the sentences are true or false. They also have to give reasons why they think so.

HOMEWORK/REVISION

This lesson also includes an additional task that you can use as homework or revision. In the task, students practise the use of the vocabulary from the lesson. The task is available in the teacher’s version of the worksheet. You can print it and hand it out to your students. It’s also included in the e-lesson plan.

Thanks Darren! It’s really nice to hear that. And don’t worry about the typo. 😉

Hi. I really like the topic, and the way you approached it, but the video is far too fast for most of my A2 students. Plus the vocabulary that he uses is much over the A2 level. The activities are interesting from the teacher’s perspective, but I would expect a little more on the grammar you decided to incorporate in the lesson. It seems tobe a bit left “hanging” and the instructions are a tad misleading – sometimes it’s a grammar question sometimes vocabulary. So interesting lesson, but requires some adjusting to the actual A2 level.

Hi! Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. We agree that the video is quite fast and it might be a bit challenging that’s why the lesson might be most suitable for strong A2 students. Regarding the grammar task, students just need to work with some sentences and correct grammatical mistakes. As we wanted them to revise their knowledge rather than teach them new things, we didn’t include more grammar activities. Still I hope that you can adapt this worksheet to your needs and that your students find the topic engaging 🙂

The first device is not a joystick/game console but a game pad 🙂

Haha, you’re totally right! There’s a difference, of course. We’re changing that in the worksheet now.

Is there a minimum subscription period if I choose a monthly subscription?

No, there's no minimum required number of subscription months. You can cancel any time you want. Basically, you can sign up and then cancel your subscription the next day, which will mean you have access for 1 month and won't be charged again.

What currencies can I pay in for my subscription?

Our default currency is USD (American dollar), but you can also pay in EUR (euro), GBP (British pound sterling) or PLN (Polish zloty). You can change the currency you want to pay in at the Pricing page before selecting a subscription plan.

How can I edit an e-lesson plan?

You can get your own editable copy of an e-lesson plan and make changes to it. To do so, either (1) make a copy of it on your Google Drive (preferable method) or (2) download it in a Powerpoint format (but formatting might be a bit off so we can’t guarantee that it will work well).
