LEAD‐IN & VIDEO

First, students look at the list of words (bitcoin, blockchain, crowdfunding, FinTech, online banking) and have to say what they know about them. Next, they read a short text and complete gaps with the words from the previous exercise. Before watching a video about FinTech, students read some statistics and complete gaps with their own ideas. After that, they watch the video to check their answers. In the next listening comprehension activity, students have to watch the video again and find more information about a few other things (such as M-Pesa, Robo-advisors, Peer-to-peer lending platforms). Finally, students discuss a few questions connected with the video.

FINTECH VOCABULARY

In the next part of this lesson plan on FinTech, students learn more vocabulary related to the topic. They get a list of terms and need to match them to correct meanings. Again, students have the possibility to discuss the words they’ve learnt and talk more about FinTech. To practise the vocabulary further and consolidate it in a more communicative way, students work in teams and play ‘Explain this!’ by creating short definitions of some FinTech terms. They play ten rounds and see who knows their FinTech vocabulary best!

What currencies can I pay in for my subscription?

Our default currency is USD (American dollar), but you can also pay in EUR (euro), GBP (British pound sterling) or PLN (Polish zloty). You can change the currency you want to pay in at the Pricing page before selecting a subscription plan.

How can I edit an e-lesson plan?

You can get your own editable copy of an e-lesson plan and make changes to it. To do so, either (1) make a copy of it on your Google Drive (preferable method) or (2) download it in a Powerpoint format (but formatting might be a bit off so we can’t guarantee that it will work well).
