Vocabulary - phrasal verbs

Flipped

lesson plan for educators

LESSON OVERVIEW

This flipped classroom worksheet is based on a TED Talk by Rita Pierson recommended by one of our subscribers, David. We’ve found it so inspiring and spot on that we’ve decided to focus our flipped worksheet on it. The worksheet is prepared for B2 learners who are educators, teachers or any other professionals whose field of interest is education.

B2 / Upper Intermediate30 minFlipped LessonUnlimited Plan

This is a Flipped Classroom lesson plan. In a nutshell, it means that the first part of the lesson needs to be done by students at home. Learn more about flipped classroom and how we implement it in these lesson plans in our post.

PRE-CLASS ACTIVITIES

In the first pre-class activity students need to complete phrasal verbs with given words. To check their answers, students need to watch the video.
The second exercise focuses on vocabulary as well. Students match adjectives with nouns to create popular expressions. They can check their answers by reading the transcript of the video.

IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES

In‐class activities include a discussion about the talk as well as the idea of bringing more positive language to our classrooms.

First, students need to answer questions which concern the video and the speaker’s idea. Some of the questions contain phrasal verbs from the pre-class worksheet, so you can easily check whether your students have done their homework and understand phrasal verbs.

Next, students move to a short text about using positive language in the classroom and school. They have to decide whether they agree or disagree with the text. After that, students need to paraphrase expressions to make them more positive and more appropriate to use by educators, teachers, etc. Finally, they can compare their answers with the table adopted from www.weareteachers.com.

Is there a minimum subscription period if I choose a monthly subscription?

No, there’s no minimum required number of subscription months. You can cancel any time you want. Basically, you can sign up and then cancel your subscription the next day, which will mean you have access for 1 month and won’t be charged again.

What currencies can I pay in for my subscription?

Our default currency is USD (American dollar), but you can also pay in EUR (euro), GBP (British pound sterling) or PLN (Polish zloty). You can change the currency you want to pay in at the Pricing page before selecting a subscription plan.

How can I edit an e-lesson plan?

You can get your own editable copy of an e-lesson plan and make changes to it. To do so, either (1) make a copy of it on your Google Drive (preferable method) or (2) download it in a Powerpoint format (but formatting might be a bit off so we can’t guarantee that it will work well).
