Lesson Flows update: browse, save, customise

Title separator

If you’ve used our Lesson Flows before, you know the idea: they’re a ready-made sequence of 15-20 lessons for a particular level or group of students designed so that you don’t have to plan a whole course from scratch. Now we’ve reworked both the flows themselves and the way you use them. Here’s what’s new.

More relevant lessons in flows

We’ve revisited our Lesson Flows to make sure that the lessons are up-to-date. That means more recent materials and lessons that work well together. If a Lesson Flow felt a little dated before, you should give it another look now.

Save and edit Lesson Flows

Every Lesson Flow is now available directly on the website. You can open it, scroll through the full lesson sequence and decide whether it meets your students’ needs.

Since no two groups of students are the same, you can also save and edit each flow to adjust it to a particular group or student. You can:

  • add lessons that your students need and remove the ones they don’t need;
  • add and remove follow-up lessons;
  • add notes next to each lesson, so that you don’t forget anything before, during or after the class;
  • reorder lessons to prioritize some topics over others.

When you save a flow, give it a name. Something like “B2 Business Group” or “Anna, conversation focus” makes it easy to spot later. All your flows are kept in one place: go to Saved Flows and they’re right there.

Why this matters

Course planning is one of the most time-consuming parts of ESL teaching. With Lesson Flows updated, browsable on the website and fully customisable, you can go from “I need a plan for this group” to “Here’s the plan!” in a few minutes. And you can keep adjusting as the course goes on.

Course planning just got easier. Explore the updated Lesson Flows, save them and make them your own.
